First Sunday of the month from 8.00pm

Cheshire Folk Session and sing around has been going for about 17 years, started by Liz as Cheshire Folk Club at the Kings Lock in Middlewich, although the club has moved around a few different venues over the years, we are still to be found on the first Sunday of every month at the spiritual home for folk music in Middlewich, The Boars Head.

Bands and artists, singer songwriters and instrumentalists! Friends, singers and listeners absolutely welcome, all instruments welcome and always acoustic!

Generally run as a sing around, joining in is welcome but not expected, anyone with a burning desire to stand up and perform a latest self-penned song or tune for our pleasure, we'll be delighted to listen or join in by invitation!

Everyone is welcome to sing along with the regulars or enjoy the music as audience. We start at 8pm in the restaurant area of the pub where we enjoy amazing acoustics! Please come and join the organiser and founder of Cheshire Folk, Liz Rosenfield, with club regulars, husband Sean Boyle, along with esteemed other member of Bitter and Twisted, good friend and singing husband David Giles.

We are regularly joined by friends from as far afield as Stoke, Manchester, Crewe and Merseysideand occasionally international visitors get to hear about us and come and join us too and we are frequented by passing boaters, and friends from other folk clubs such as Northwich Folk Club and Sandbach folk club who come along and share music and song.

No door fee or raffle money required, but donation pot on the door to cover whatever we fancy and sometimes it's cake or will go towards a performer’s fee in the summer Folk at the Lock festival! At the end of the evening, the much-coveted Cheshire Folk Cup will be given to a performer for doing something special on the night and who knows what that might be? We don't stand on ceremony, and we are always informal, always acoustic and we enjoy a chat and friendship as much as a song and a performance.
