IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that from today 23rd January there will be no more updates to this website until further notice.
Due to irreconcilable differences between me and some members of the management committee, I have resigned from my position as webmaster.
The reasons for my departure have caused me to remove some site facilities,
such as the search box, which are my own intellectual property.

The Contact Us facility will now direct you to our secretary's email address.
The Twitter account and Yahoo Group have been closed down.
The Facebook page will remain, administered by others.

Thank you to all those who have given me support during my stewardship.

Best Regards,
Geoff Hill

Message from Acoustic Collective:
Acoustic Collective still meet at the Wharf Tavern, Stalybridge, on the first Tuesday in the month at 20:45hrs for a singaround.
A new venue hosted by Ann English, Phil Mayher, Chris Turner, Jim Schofield and Paul Roberts is starting on Friday 10th February from 20:30hrs at "The Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volunteer Rifleman Corps" (the longest named pub in the country) on Astley Street, Stalybridge, SK15 2EX.
Called Friday night Live. Folk Roots and Rhyme. Everbody welcome.

Please see the message here about the "National Theatre Folk School" and the production "War Horse".

It is anticipated that a date in April will be set for the new AGM and you will receive Notices/Agenda in good time so that the AGM is formed correctly in accordance with the Federation constitution.

The new time, date and venue will also be publicised in the next edition of the FOLK NORTH WEST magazine. I will email you this information as soon as I am in possession of it.

I also wish to inform you that I have received Motions of Notice proposing certain changes to the structure of the Federation Management Committee, the voting procedure, entitlements to vote and the development of Federation matters in the future.
NB: The AGM will therefore have plenty to discuss in April and your attendance is requested if you wish to take part in discussions and contribute to the future plans of the Federation.
