I am a
singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist who has lived in Auckland for
more than 15 years.
Hailing
originally from Manchester, England, my musical influences began with
the British Folk Revival of the late '60s and I was a regular guest at
folk clubs, concerts and festivals throughout England during the '70s.
Moving to
Ireland in the '80s I performed successfully on the live music circuit
for many years uniquely playing a blend of traditional and contemporary
British and American Folk music along with the usual Irish fare.
My folk music and performing activities were put on hold during the
children and mortgages years, but is now being resurrected and during
2006 I have been actively composing, arranging and performing music, and
early this year relased a CD entitled "Across The Years"
dedicated to my earlier life in Ireland.
I am keen to
put together a 3-month visit to the UK and Ireland in the summer of
2008, taking in as many club, concert and festival dates as we can
arrange.
Between now and then, I plan to concentrate on performing NZ and in Oz,
and to finish a new folk CD, a sneak preview of which can be found on
this website. Hope to see you around. Cheers, Phil.
