Multi-instrumentalist duo
Jamie Schofield and Nicola Lyons are too young for the BBC Radio Two
Folk Awards but too old for early nights! They are currently
Fosbrook Folk Education Trust School of Traditional Music top students
and they performed as a duo at Sidmouth International Folk Festival,
Whitby Folk Week and Saddleworth Acoustic Festival as well as
headlining a concert tour in Sweden and appearing with Fosbrooks - The
Front Line at the Sixth International China Folk Festival. Jamie and
Nicola come as highly recommended by Bernard Wrigley, Kathryn Tickell,
Pete Cooper and Celtic Connections Festival.
Two comments about their
performances :
Jamie and
Nicola are natural performers - they entertain, they lift the
spirits and they play great music with verve, vitality and
commitment. Kathryn Tickell.
Sometimes
when you encounter perfomers who are barely in their teens and very
good players they can appear a little precocious. Not so with Jamie
and Nicola. Instrumental prowess that adults would be proud of - and
they talk to the audience (even cracking jokes). What a promising
start - they'll certainly go a long way. Bernard Wrigley
